Does anyone else remember the brand Luella? Luella was a super girlie, pretty brand that seriously struck a chord with my teenage self. It was a brand I was always working towards owning pieces from and a show that I always looked forward to seeing over fashion week. It was a brand that didn’t last long but I always thought was ahead of its time and would have flourished wonderfully now. Luella Bartley, the designer behind the brand is teaming up again with Kate Hillier to bring about a new brand which will hopefully bring back some of that gorgeously girlie style into my life. I can wait to see the new brand and what it’ll bring. Ill finally be able to add more of those feminine edgy pieces into my wardrobe again.

Scoured from my auntie’s closet all the way in Palm Springs, I found this cream teddy bear coat going to waste in the heat of the desert. Safe to say it came back with me to England, where it was originally purchased back in the seventies. Only a vintage piece would have the details of cream fluffy buttons. I love the vintage shape, the length and the serious warmth of it. It’s pure wool and it feels more like a blanket than anything else and I’ve certainly used it as such on the plane back to the UK.

For saying that I live in Milano half the year, I have never purchased a single product from Kiko. I have no idea why it’s cheap as chips in there and the quality is supposed to be phenomenal for the price point. I remedied this terrible slight at the airport a few weeks ago. Kiko was having a 50% off sale and I needed a new lip pencil. But somehow I came out with all sorts. Duty-free shopping slays me every time. As I’ve never tried any of the products before, I waited like a good little girl til I got home and could build up a look using all the products together to test it out and see what I thought of it all.
Kiko Colour Fever Eye shadow Palette in Unexpected Rosy Taupe 100
I picked up this quad because of the glitter, I dont have any eye shadows with this much glitter and then the winning factor was the bottom right-hand shade, that deep mauve purple. So beautiful. All four colours are cool toned and work together to build up into bronzy purple. I always lean towards more cool toned palettes they work better with my skin tone. The eye shadows are buildable and the glitter is finely milled so it comes out soft and can be subtle unless you build it up.
Kiko Creamy Color Comfort Lipliner in Warm Rose 302
I used the top left colour which is a greyish pink colour to cover the lids, I then went into the crease line and lower lash line with the top right, I copper brown shade that added definition. I then smoked out the outer part of my lid and crease line with that purple mauve colour in the bottom right-hand corner. And finished the look off with the yellow cream shadow in the bottom right-hand corner, I highlighted my brow bone and the inner corner of my eyes, blending into the middle of the lid.
The lip pencil is a creamy, dreamy little thing. I’ve never had a lip liner so creamy, it glides onto the lips so easily. I originally wanted a natural lip colour to go underneath the lip crayon, but this turned out more way more pink that anticipated. Its a more pink than my natural lip colour, but I prefer a pink toned neutral over brown toned.
Kiko Vivid Colour Lip Pencil in Peach 02
My favourite purchase out of the bunch, this lip pencil which now lives in my bag and is in constant use. It’s an almost perfect lip match on its own. It’s very creamy, much like the lip liner and paired with the lip liner it comes to a soft pink that I love.
Overal I’m a definite convert to Kiko and have a few things in mind that I’d like to purchase in the future. I especially want to get my hands on more eye shadows, the colours in this quad are beautiful and really make me want to add a couple more neutrals.
