Leather Look Leggings – ASOS | Jumper – GAP (last year) | Coat – OUTNET (McQ Alexander McQueen) | Shoes – Public Desire (sold out – similar)

Is there anything better than being treated to a new coat? The boyfriend, the keeper that he bought me a coat on the condition that I’d find a coat that was timeless. A coat is generally the first item of clothing people see you in when they meet you. And as part of this first impression he wanted me to buy a classic piece that could work in any situation. Not a bad proposition, now to find the damn thing.

I wanted a well crafted, statement piece but at an affordable price. Immediately that took me to the outnet.com. The McQ Alexander McQueen coats were perfect and beautifully tailored. The problem with the outnet is the limited sizing and stock can run out fast. I originally found a different style but the sizing was wrong and so I tried this coat simply for the curved shape of the back. The coat is tailored in a feminine way. Once button up, the large pocket flaps are placed to give the body a distinctive curved flare at the hips. And if left unbuttoned it can become more casual and the main detail shifts into the curving back.

A perfect present that’ll last me for many years. And which I already barely take off, all other coats in my wardrobe forgotten.

Knitted dresses are something I usually gravitate towards but this dress, with the graphic design made to create and accentuate curves. Styled with flat boots, its something for the day and perfect for these cold winter winds in London. The hat I’ll just have to hold on to!

Jacket – Maje | Tshirt – Zoe Karssen | Leather Trousers – Isabel Marant X H&M | Shoes – Public Desire

In the last few weeks of autumn before it turned grey for what now seems like forever. I pulled out my leather trousers that have and probably always will be my favourite purchase from a H&M collaboration. It was the Isabel Marant collab and the quality and detail of replicating the top styles and pieces from her main collection is incredible. The leather is gorgeously soft and the fit is incredible, with a cropped leg and the lace up sides its a perfect piece in my wardrobe that instantly elevates any standard outfit.

I found a few on the site Vestiaire Collective if you want to get your hands on one!
