Back in Manchester and I’ve unearthed a Zara coat that my mum found for me in a charity shop years ago (thank Mum). These long, military style coats seem to be all over the place this season so it’s perfect timing on refinding this little gem. I’ve found a coat so similar and yet so much better I kind of want to buy the new one I’ve found as well so I can let them live together. My charity shop find is a little oversized for me, giving it a slouchy look. Its wool but lightweight and is brilliant at working as a transitional piece, it gives that extra layer of warmth without being overwhelming. Especially as it hits below the knees, it makes it easy to stretch out the summer wardrobe that little bit longer which still keeping me toasty.

Underneath the coat is some old ASOS flared jeans that I’ve cut to ankle length. Similar style here. A pink long sleeved t-shirt, similar here and some Converse high top trainers. I never thought I’d buy a pair of converse, I’ve always admired people who wear them and how they style them but I just couldn’t get behind it or wrap my head around how to style them and if I’m honest I never liked them for me personally. But with all my cropped jeans I needed some shoes that were easy to throw on and run around in and kind of kept my ankles warm and so I finally plunged into the high top converse wearing club and I have not taken them off my feet. They are so damn comfy and they go with everything.
