Happy bank holiday from Italy, I know that in the UK the bank holiday happened Monday but its happening today and the city has emptied out like it always does and its like walking through a ghost town, so surreal but i really love going for a wander when its empty like this.
This skirt has been hanging out in my wardrobe waiting for the summer season to come in, so it can get a proper outing. For some reason I only seem to associate this skirt with summer. Maybe its the gignham which feels like it just works in hot weather so much more.
Weird thought process aside, its a bloody good skirt. It’s a high waisted navy blue and white gingham pencil skirt with a small ruffled hem from Stylenanda, a brand I’m not very familiar with but it’s on ASOS. The unexpected frills on the hem made me love and hate this skirt in equal measure, I thought it could really have gone either way on how good it looks on. But after multiple wears I’m 100% on board with the frills, they add that little something-something that makes it that little bit more interesting you know?
Worn with an oversized white slogan tee, if you get the reference – high five to you. If not have a good laugh at this very serious talk about life with Kylie Jenner. I’m starting to amass quite a collection of slogan tees now, but this one is a firm favourite, maybe because it’s so simple? I’m sure the others that I’ve got piled up in my wardrobe will make it on to the blog in due course. But for now, Kylie references and gingham skirts.
And then the usual suspects for accessories, Gucci 1973 cross body bag and my Cartier Tank watch and some old sunnies from ASOS last summer that I adore. And for shoes, the Birkenstock Arizona’s have come back out for another summer, no judgement just comfort.
Wearing; Missy Empire slogan tee, Stylenanda blue gingham ruffle skirt, ASOS pink sunglasses (similar), Gucci 1973 cross body bag, Birkenstock Arizona sandals + Cartier Tank watch.
