River Island grey corduroy culottes, Aubin & Wills cream wool jumper (similar), Vintage navy beret (similar) + & Other Stories pointed chelsea boots.
Two items I’m not sure suit my style and yet I’ve bought into because I’ve seen so many girls on my Instagram pull them both off in various ways so bloody well are culottes and berets.
Culottes I’ve tried and tried for the past few years and finally, I’ve kind of settled on this light grey corduroy pair. How many times they will get worn only time will tell, I do however love them styled the way they are here, with a pale cream knit jumper and accentuated with darker accessories.
The beret is a style of hat I’m not sure how to deal with, half the time I just think its too big for my head and falls wrong and looks bulky. And then in some of the shots, I’m all for it, it looks marvellous and IRL I generally love the look. Most of the time I’m just confused as to how so many girls rock it and make it look so effortlessly cool. I’ll continue on, trying to make it work. I picked one up in a navy shade, in the hope that it will work with most of my wardrobe and encourage me to try it more.
On another note, these are some of my favourite images were shot in a while. We went to Bramhall Hall in south Manchester and I think the old tutor building in the background with its black and white beams and the strong sun add depth. Creating some cool shadows that were a little difficult to shoot with but well worth the effort.
