Anyway. Summer is my absolute favourite season and I usually switch to a predominatly light coloured wardrobe but sometimes my inner winter self wants to break free and my all black, colder season mentality creeps back in for the day. And this is the type of outfit I end up with.
With these new jeans shorts from Dr Denim, its turning into more than a few days to be fair. I’m more than a little obsessed with the fit of these jeans. They are a slightly oversized mom style jeans shorts which is style I love. These are high waisted, in a washed out black and have rips on the front and have extra material on the legs so you can roll them up, but they aren’t sewed up so you can customise to a desired length.
The denim is quite thick and feels good quality and they are so comfortable, I would say these are actually on par with my Levi 501 cut off‘s that I love to death and which will fall to pieces before I will part with them and are the comfiest of jeans shorts.
Like my Levi’s I intentionally bought these slightly oversized. I went two sizes up from my normal sizing just to get the slightly oversized effect, partly for the look and mainly for the comfort.
There’s actually a bunch of favourites in this outfit. Alongside the jean shorts, the top I’m wearing is actually a body from ASOS, its a square neckline strappy vest style. I’ve already bought it in pink as well(that arrived in the post today!), but maybe I should buy another in black to be safe? Now this body is in my life I don’t want to ever be without it. Its a bloody good styling piece, it goes with flippin everything!
And then there’s my gladiator sandals that are honestly, a little bit of pain to put on but I love them all the same. I love the way these look on my legs, hitting just above the midway point of my calves, they add a little extra interest to any outfit, espeically one as simple as this.
And can we talk about this Zara bag? Its been doing its rounds hasn’t it? I feel like I cant move on instagram without it cropping up on my feed. But its a great little bag, and its cheap as chips at 20 Euros. Its perfectly sized, fitting all the essentials and a little more besides. I think the major selling point though is the long straps which make it so wearable, non of this solely holding in your hands business that many straw bags seem to make you deal with, I’ve got to be hands free. And the pom poms! Man, the poms poms takes this bag to the next level, who doesnt love the added detail of some pom poms?
